Volunteer with First Book
First Book relies on the support of volunteers like you to help give the gift of new books to the millions of children in need across the country.
If you are interested in volunteering at a First Book National Book Bank distribution, please complete the form below, and we will contact you the next time we are hosting a distribution in your area! Volunteering at a book distribution is an exciting, rewarding experience in which "book orders" are prepared for recipient groups. Some of these groups will be coming to pick up the books you have prepared, while other groups will be having the books shipped to them. Volunteers are needed for physical labor, such as lifting, carrying, and sorting boxes, as well as for less physical tasks, such as labeling boxes and greeting recipient groups.
To contact the First Book National Book Bank team directly, please e-mail fbnbbvolunteers@firstbook.org.
If you would like to make a longer-term commitment to volunteering with First Book, please consider joining or starting an Advisory Board! First Book Advisory Boards bring together dedicated volunteers to identify local literacy programs in their community serving children from low-income families, and fund them with grants of brand-new books. Visit http://www.firstbook.org/abfinder to find an Advisory Board in your area, or learn how to start one at http://www.firstbook.org/abstart.
